Hello, just dropping a quick note to let everyone in the Rhode Island area know that today, Thursday, May 1st, is Paint the Town RED day. If you’re not familiar with the annual fundraiser for AIDS Care Ocean State it’s very straightforward. Eat and/or drink at any one of a dozen participating restaurants and bars and a portion of the proceeds from your order is donated to AIDS Care Ocean State. It’s a win-win-win because you get a great meal and drinks, the small business (all the participants are locally owned small businesses) get your money and ACOS gets a donation.
Check out the participating places and get out there today!
Eat Drink RI has been a sponsor of the event for many years and a supporter of AIDS Care Ocean State, an organization that provides all kinds of care and services for people affected by HIV in this area, for even longer. If you’re not local or can’t get to one of the participating businesses on May 1st, you can always make a donation to ACOS.
I realize I’ve been kind of silent for a while now. Getting out there and supporting our local food and drink community but not posting as much. I’ll get on the ol’ iPhone and interact some more and I’ll have more events and news to share here soon.
For example, if you’re looking for a job from a local business make sure you register for next week’s RI Small Business Coalition’s Small Business Job Fair. Save August 17th for the next Eating with the Ecosystem Fishes at the Fort and September 18th for ecoRI News’s annual Zero-Trash Birthday Bash. There’s more and I do keep the Eat Drink RI events calendar stocked full!
As always, thank you for reading this far down. There’s news and updates on eatdrinkri.com in addition to stories, links, reels, posts, liquor scores, etc. on my media:
